
Welsh Bass Sion Goronwy graduated from the University of Wales Aberystwyth with a bachelor’s degree in History, before continuing his study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the International Opera School at the Royal College of Music. Sion’s career highlights have seen him perform leading roles with international opera houses including the Royal Ballet & Opera, Aix-enProvence Festival, Teatro La Fenice, Teatro Massimo Palermo, Israeli Opera, Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Welsh National Opera, Teatro Carlo Felice Genova, Royal Opera House Muscat; Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Garsington Opera, Opera North, Aldeburgh Festival, The Grange Festival, Dubai Opera, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Den Norske Opera and Bregenzer Festspiele with conductors including Vladimir Jurowski, Kazushi Ono, Jakub Hrůša, Donato Renzetti, Robin Ticciati, Jonathan Cohen, Leo McFall, Daniel Cohen, Juraj Valčuha, Tomáš Hanus and Alexander Soddy.
