Overview
The Mahler Players open our 2025/26 season with the continuation of our journey through Wagner’s Parsifal, this time with two concert performances of Act 2. Alongside this Act will be Matthew King’s new orchestration of a beautiful piano piece by Wagner, the Albumblatt für Betty Schott, and opening the concert Boulez’s striking fanfare for brass, Initiale.
Joining the orchestra will be old friends, including Sir John Tomlinson making his debut in role of Klingsor and Magdalena Anna Hofmann taking the role of Kundry.
In December we continue with Bruckner; the Third Symphony will be presented, following our sold-out performance of the Fourth Symphony last year.
The September programme will be performed in the atmospheric surroundings of Inverness Cathedral and Strathpeffer Pavilion, with the December concert a one-off performance in Inverness Cathedral.
